Review: Show last saw natëne Gangster Squad, and to say the least, I was impressed. I had decent expectations for the film stout Serena threw Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling for two films, with the re?? Director, whose last GE ED (Zombieland and 30 min or less). So what went wrong? As the summary says that it was too cliché?? Ee? every gangster movie out there and I tried so hard to be like LA Confidential and The Untouchables. Although this film would have done much better 90 I do not feel like it fits generation is Sean Penn as Mickey Cohen film.You who decides that he wants to be king of Los Angeles, and this is a way he can. Nick Nolte plays the chief of police who are tired of the way and goes to LA to recruit hard-nosed, do-as-I-please Sgt. John Omar (Josh Brolin) to set up a crack team to take down Cohen. There is a mandatory round-up of the team, where he can be bi-centered smart-ass and drove his shot past the edge of prime-character guy, a black, and a policeman, who did not want to join at first, but was thrust into the fray. You will have to hunt down a typical bad boy, some of the opposition, when to shoot an incredible amount of bullets are flying and no one can influence, romance and a very flat if you do not know why these two are together for some other reason than they are looking really good. There were moments in the climax of the film, where the audience burst into laughter and I think it was too unwarranted.The only real saving grace was Sean Penn, who made a performance, strong, powerful as Mickey Cohen. All in all, I was disappointed in Gangster Squad, and feel like the whole movie brought something new to the table a gangster?? Genre.
