Review: Fond memories of Paul Verhoevens Total Recall further back while watching this remake. If you've seen the original, then you know how it goes.Len Wisemans remake of the same with Colin Farrell replacing Arnold, in practice the first of its leading role in the past year, the removal of the action to Mars as the background and replace it too crowded, a country that traffic from a different angle occurs, that is, right in the middle of the country. Unfortunately, all too serious in this version. I have fonder memories of Verhoeven / Arnold version, when a ship arrived after Arnie-kill. Has disappeared. Some characters are trimmed or even cut entirely from the original. Bryan Cranstons Cohaagen me even more Ronny Cox, and Bill Nighys leader of the opposition will not stand in comparison with the 1990 film. The best thing the writers have done is combine Sharon Stone and Michael Ironsides character in a 1990 film, and how to describe Kate Beckinsale here.The serious ass kicking scenario is almost completely recovered origina, lu, and set except the final act of the film. No kidding. While editing the film fast and elegant (with a little too much ala JJ Abrams lens flare), score Harry Gregson-Williams music is a comment t lackluster in my opinion. It's just there, doing his job, and I do not care. Wheres Marco Beltrami,?, Or even in this case, his legendary mentor, late, great Jerry Goldsmith, when you need Wiseman Director has a knack for action (Underworld, Die Hard 4), and it shows a lot here. Unfortunately the script couldve been better, but on the other hand, if it is set on Mars that wouldve been shot-for-shot remake with better data , but I still wouldve loved to see action on the Red Planet once again. PG-13 rating is appropriate, and there is really little homages to the original, but overall this remake is nothing more a fast-paced, popcorn chewing wasting good time, with some really nice chew on.However CGI, Id rather see the old ones. Arnie has a stronger presence of the screen, as Farrell and it is ambitious and has a bigger heart sleeker, newer one . Overall Rating: 53%
